Hello, Telosians! We're back from another exhilarating Telos Evolved Town Hall – this time, Town Hall 02, where we unveiled our ambitious roadmap for The Telos Network in 2024/25. Missed out on the live excitement? Here’s a recap to keep you updated on the latest and greatest from Telos.

Evolving Telos with a New Roadmap

The Telos Core Developers (TCD) kicked off the event by unveiling a new product roadmap. This roadmap has been designed to enable blockchain utility that currently does not exist today due to certain limitations. Central to this vision is handling large numbers of transactions efficiently and securely using zero knowledge proofs.

Key to this initiative is the Scalable Proof Protocol (SPP), a decentralized framework designed for massively scalable ZK-enabled transactions, enhancing security and privacy. Its purpose? To make Zero Knowledge technology feasible for high throughput use cases such as gaming, compliancy, and data protection on-chain, paving the way for its broader adoption in everyday applications.

Coming in the first quarter of 2024 is a technical whitepaper that will shed light on these exciting developments. The roadmap for 2024-2025 also focuses on upgrading the Telos Ethereum Virtual Machine (TEVM), significantly boosting its capacity to handle more transactions. Another key feature is the introduction of blockchain as a service (BaaS), simplifying the creation of new blockchain solutions with enhanced privacy features within a customizable and bespoke way.

These advancements are particularly promising for the gaming sector within Telos, with plans to launch a ZKEVM side chain. This roadmap illustrates Telos's commitment to making blockchain technology both accessible and essential across global industries, seamlessly integrating it into everyday use.

System Enhancements: Bolstering Our Foundation

During Town Hall 02, the TCD also highlighted substantial improvements to our system contracts. These include new opcodes and significant performance upgrades. A major focus is on refining Telos EVM 1.5, which involves enhanced management of data forks and optimizing algorithms for block hashes. Moreover, efforts are being made to ensure Telos EVM works flawlessly with Go Ethereum, an important step for interoperability. These improvements, expected to be completed by the end of 2023, will enhance the overall strength and efficiency of Telos' blockchain infrastructure, setting a robust foundation for future innovations.

Tekika: Innovating and Invigorating the Telos Ecosystem for Users

Tekika, presented by Telos’ Head of Design Chris Waxa, is an interactive, journey-driven NFT collection designed to reward you as you interact with the Telos Network!

The collection aims to achieve several key objectives:

Rewarding User Engagement: Throughout an engaging narrative-driven journey, users will be consistently rewarded at every stage, enhancing their experience and involvement.

Social Awareness Campaign: Leveraging the mechanics of the NFT collection, the goal is to launch a broad social awareness campaign. This will not only promote the collection but also increase its visibility and appeal across various platforms.

Community Building and Incentivization: Central to the collection's ethos is fostering a strong community around Telos. This will be achieved through interactive group challenges and team efforts. Participants can look forward to exclusive rewards, both in real life (IRL) and within the game, fostering a sense of camaraderie and collective achievement.

The progression of collectors through the NFT challenges, along with the experience points (XP) they accumulate, will directly influence the quantity of tokens allocated to them from the gaming side chain. This correlation ensures that active participation and advancement in the NFT challenges translate into tangible rewards in the form of increased gaming side chain token allocations.

Introducing the Telos ZK EVM Gaming Chain: K2-18

Telos is diving headfirst into the exciting world of web3 gaming, led by our new Head of Gaming, Justin Edwards. During Town Hall 02 we introduced K2-18, our specialized gaming side-chain, set to launch in the third quarter of 2024. K2-18 will feature a side token MVP, a crucial first step, in Q3, followed by a dynamic gaming launcher in Q4. These developments are not just about enhancing the gaming experience on Telos; they're about keeping pace with the ever-changing gaming industry and establishing Telos as a leader in web3 gaming innovation. As we prepare for these launches, we're setting the stage for 2024 to be a groundbreaking year, where Telos will seamlessly blend the worlds of blockchain and gaming, and welcoming a new era in digital entertainment.

Charging into the Future

Wrapping up the Telos Evolved 02 Town Hall, we've laid out a visionary and cutting-edge roadmap for Telos in 2024. Central to this plan is the management of high-volume transactions enhanced by zero knowledge proofs and the introduction of our Scalable Proof Protocol. These steps are crucial in leading the charge for widespread blockchain adoption, focusing on scalability and protecting user data. Upgrading the tEVM and innovating with a blockchain-as-a-service model will further these objectives. Additionally, the Tekika NFT collection and the Telos ZK EVM Gaming Chain, K2-18, spotlight our strategic commitment to community engagement and exploring the web3 gaming market. These collective efforts are a significant milestone in Telos' journey, merging technological advancements with practical gaming applications and beyond.

Stay tuned to our social channels to keep up with all the Telos updates and be a part of the exciting journey ahead.

Best wishes,

The Telos Foundation Team
